Innovation as the foundation of economic dynamism and prosperity is a complex process involving contributions from various players. In particular it deals with the transformation of basic science into rival proposals that improve the well-being of mankind. For more than 200 years technological innovation has driven economic development. All growth is based on innovation. The process of innovation involves complementary contributions from science, from entrepreneurs, from the financial markets, from the investment community and from government.

When looking at the today’s world we see many organizations flourishing and many organizations failing. GDIC is focusing on solution based approaches to provide to any management team globally. The main focus should be on human to human cooperation and collaboration which we can successfully implement while looking at components and elements of global talent management within merger & acquisitions (M&A) and an effective development of the global workforce.

These are all very big words. We can break them down in different components so they don’t seem so overwhelming. It is always easier to look at smaller steps so we can understand the bigger picture. Remember the times when you were playing with Legos? You had different colors and shapes to combine into a bigger, better and creative masterpiece of your own or follow instructions for a complicated model. This is how we should look at the global workforce if we want to become an international player in today’s economy. We need to play well in order to become really successful. We need to use our common sense and put robots in place where it makes sense but put a humane person in place where the trust and relationship is required to move the organization forward.

Where do you fit in? Where are your gaps within your organization? How can we reach the perfect vision by 2020? These are important questions where we have real answers.

Global talent management is the overarching element to bring the humane factor into human resources. We as leaders need to empower our employees and not only the top employees. Employees should be our assets and not our liabilities. If we have a leadership team that is well trained and prepared for the future we also need to trickle down the motion of the movement that brings the knowledge base to the next layers. Not everybody is a type A personality, we also need players at the ground. For that we need to have a holistic approach. Leaders in today’s global world need to be very agile; they need to be ready to ensure a sustainable future were we empower and nurture our talents of our total workforce.

M&A situations can hinder smooth sailing for a certain time. However, if the new organization is ready for the change management process then all the obstacles should be irrelevant and problems should be mastered with brilliance and elegance. Managers should focus on a solutions based approach when managing an M&A situation. Again, leaders need to be agile, flexible and ready for 2020.

Then what is the solution that can get you stress-free to 2020? Again, it has to be a holistic approach where all are in it together. There is no I in a team. If you have a dysfunctional team then you will not be successful. You can focus on sales numbers but if the global workforce in not aligned with your global vision then you can close your doors.

What is the platform of the future? Certainly in our super and ueber connected world we as leaders need to be two steps if not three steps ahead of the game. So then we might want to look into the sports world how they use their competitive advantage and setting goals to win the gold medal. We need to have great team players like the successful soccer teams for the 2014 soccer world cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. If we want to invite a global soccer player into our team we need to be ready to accommodate and adapt to a different culture. Strength, stamina, endurance and an open and global world view can change your mind set for a winning team. Each team member needs to be coached to focus on aggressive but achievable goals in order to be successful.

It seems we have the solution to the success for the perfect vision in 2020: It all depends on our global workforce, their motivation across the board and ranks and their forward thinking, thoughtful development. We need to raise the bar of the awareness for a holistic approach in order to be more competitive in our global economy. If we only focus on one thing our balance is out of order. Think of the elegance of an Olympic figure ice skater. It is all about focus, precision, balance to coordinate with the music in harmony. If they perform alone then this is one thing. However, if they compete as a couple then even more focus, precision, balance and coordination is required to be in tune for the gold medal.

With the motto: human to human we can create this holistic approach and awareness for all to finish strong. Be part of this venture and become more curious on this journey for a medal.
