Companies should adopt a less mechanical and more organic approach to human resource management

Human resource management needs to be more flexible and less complex, making use of social media within the company to encourage more ‘self-steering’ careers and better internal labor markets. There also need to be better processes for filtering and selection of new employees, getting the balance right between growing talent within organizations and hiring expertise and new insights from outside. Selection should be seen as a key leadership issue.
