The GEP Idea

While the Global Economic Symposium identifies global economic challenges and their interrelations, the Global Economic Partnership (GEP) aims to identify business strategies and economic policies that address these challenges.

The thrust of the GEP is activist. Its central questions are:

  1. What can business do to tackle the most serious global economic problems?
  2. What economic policies and institutions need to be in place for business to contribute optimally to overcoming these problems?

The GEP enables its members to gain insight into the world’s most important economic trends, align their concerns with major global challenges, learn from one another, help shape the global economic policy agenda, and contribute to economic and social progress around the world.

The GEP provides an effective structure that allows leading decision makers to share experience with those in other industries, sectors and disciplines, focus on the global interconnections of economic activities and policies, raise the profile of their organizations’ work in this context and discuss best practices relevant to economic policy.

Members of the GEP can meet annually at the Global Economic Symposium to share ideas, discuss global opportunities, and promote economic prosperity and security and propose action items for Governments as well as businesses.
