The GES Idea

The world is becoming more interconnected and interdependent, spurred by the forces of globalization and technological advance. This connectedness creates great opportunities (such as the benefits of knowledge diffusion) and equally great dangers (such as international terrorism and climate change). Thus the need for cooperation is growing, both among countries and among major decision makers within countries Yet often the means to achieve such cooperation is lacking.

The Global Economic Symposium aims to identify global challenges, examine their policy and business implications, and formulate concrete action responses to them.

The GES focuses on global economic problems.

The GES is centered on action.

The GES seeks to create an interdisciplinary dialogue.

The GES seeks to invest in the leaders of the future.

The Symposium is divided into themes and each theme covers several symposium sessions. Each session of the GES deals with a problem that is relevant to the policy, business, academic, and civic communities and generates strategic responses to that problem.
