The GES Process

In order to bring about a fruitful interaction among its participants, each Symposium will be embedded in the following process:

• First, the main themes and essential issues are communicated in advance to stakeholders of the Symposium, in order to elicit diverse perspectives on the specified global problems.
• Second, in the Virtual GES, the web-based information and discussion platform of the Symposium, background information (articles, presentations, op-eds, speeches, reports, etc.) and solution proposals are presented. Panelists are expected to digest the information and contribute to the virtual discussion, insofar as it is relevant to their session
• Third, the Symposium takes place. The GES panels debate the solutions that are described in the Virtual GES.
• Finally, the results of each Symposium are summarized annually in the book Global Economic Solutions and communicated to leading international communities of policy makers and researchers. Thereby the GES is meant to initiate an ongoing dialogue on global problem solving.
